Role Summary

An interior designer plays a crucial role in the planning and execution of aesthetically pleasing and functional interior spaces. In the context of a construction company, an interior designer collaborates closely with architects, engineers, and construction teams to design interior spaces that meet the client's needs while adhering to building codes and regulations.

In this role you will:

  • Conceptualizes and develops interior spaces that reflect the client's vision and purpose for the space, whether residential, commercial, or industrial.
  • Ensures efficient and effective use of space, considering aspects like layout, lighting, furniture placement, and materials.
  • Selects appropriate materials, finishes, and furnishings to achieve the desired aesthetic and functionality while considering factors like sustainability, durability, and cost.
  • Collaborates with architects, contractors, and vendors to ensure that designs are executed as intended, maintaining consistency between design and construction.
  • Manages project budgets, working with clients to balance design aspirations with cost constraints.
  • Ensures that designs comply with relevant building codes, safety standards, and regulations.
  • Meets with clients to understand their needs, preferences, and lifestyle, translating them into design solutions that meet their expectations.

To be shortlisted for this position, you will need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or related field.
  • 2-4 years of experience in interior design, preferably within the construction industry.
  • Proficiency in design software (AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, etc.), strong communication and presentation skills, knowledge of construction processes and materials.
  • Creative, detail-oriented, able to work under pressure, strong problem-solving skills.
